Panaji, Jun 28: The second edition of the South Asian Film Festival was inaugurated at the hands of Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in the auspicious presence of Bollywood actors Kunal Khemu, Filmakers Pankaj Parashar, Mohit Suri, Speaker Pratapsingh Rane, Secretary General of the South Asia Foundation Rahul Barua and others in the Diananth Mangueshkar auditorium at Kala Academy in Panaji.
All the dignataries present on the ocassion were felicitated along with the Bollywood stars. Noted music directors of the Raaz and Jashn fame Sharib Sabri and Toshi Sabri performed live along with Adhyayan Suman. The performance was followed by the the screening of the inaugural film from Maldives 'Yousuf' by Fathimath Nahula. Bollywood actors Anjana Sukhani and Shahana Goswami were also present. Over 60 films from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran and India will be screened in the festival.
The theme for this edition of the South Asian Film Festival is 'Dissolving Boundaries'. According to Rahul Barua, secretary General of the South Asia Foundation which organises the 'SAFF' says that the South Asian Film Festival is one of the very few festivals in the world which concentrates on the Socio-cultural and political cause.
