Udupi: First year Aradhanotsava of Shiroor Swamiji held at Moola Math

Udupi, Aug 8: The first Aradhanotsava of Shiroor Shri Laxmivaratheertha Sripada, who died of sudden illness a year ago was held on Wednesday, August 7 at the Vrindavan Sannidhi at the Shiroor Moola Math.

Special Abhisheka and Mahapooja was offered to the Pattada Gods of the math Sri Vittala, Sri Rama and Mukhyaprana by the vedics under the leadership of Padigaru Vasudeva Tantri and Laxminarayana Tantri, Diwans of Sode Math on the direction of Chief of Dwandwa Math Sode.

Pavamana Homa Viraja Homa were conducted at the Vrindavan Sannidhi of late Shri Shiroor swamiji. Later the founding ceremonies were held for the newly constructed Shilamaya Vrindavana. The cleaning ceremonies of Vrindavan, Vaastu Pooja and Vaastu homa were held on the evening of Tuesday.

Food was served to the devotees after the Mahapooja in the afternoon. At the same time, planting of sapling was carried out for the Navagraha Vana and Moolika vana, which will be constructed in memory of the late swamiji. The devotees were given precious medicinal plants.

S Ratnakumar, secretary of Sode Math educational institutions, Subramanya Bhat, manager of Shiroor Math, Madhwesha Tantri, entrepreneur Manohar Shetty, Vasudeva Bhat Perampalli, Pundarikaksha Upadhyaya and hundreds of devotees were present on the occasion.
