Bangalore, Jun 10: Bellary MLA Somashekhar Reddy, brother of ministers Karnunakar Reddy and Janardhan Reddy, met chief minister (CM) B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday June 9 and held discussion about the development of his constituency with him.
It is said, Reddy expressed his unhappiness over the fact that the requests made to the Chief Minister at the legislature session held in Belgaum during January this year, including issues like confirming the services of the daily wage workers of Bellary municipality, has not been considered so far. When Reddy brought to the notice of the CM that the petition given by him was considered by the officials as a normal public petition instead of the 'MLA's petition', the CM expressed his anger. He took to task a highly placed official found there at the time and ordered the officials to learn to respect the people's representatives.
Reddy's open outbursts against the chief minister had raised curiosity about the future plans of Reddy brothers. On Tuesday however, no indications of the tug-of-war between the mining lords and Chief Minister, were visible.
Reddy’s absence because of Personal Work: When questioned in a press conference held later in the day about the absence of revenue minister Karunakar Reddy from the meeting of deputy commissioners held here on Tuesday, Yeddyurappa tried to ward off the issue by saying that Reddy was busy with personal work. When questioned further, he said it would be unfair on his part to question the minister about the nature of his personal work.
