Manipal, Jun 9: Rajasekharan P. Warrier, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, launched the “Manipal Arogya Card” for 2009-10 here on Monday.
The arogya card scheme of Manipal University is part of its social commitment and is aimed at providing quality healthcare at affordable cost to society. The card-holder will be entitled for concessions in charges for inpatients and outpatients at various hospitals under the network of the Manipal Health Systems. Membership enrolment for the cards will be open from June 10 to July 25.
The card is priced at Rs. 200 for an individual and Rs. 450 for a family. Family includes the card-holder, the spouse, and children below 21 years (any number of children). An add-on card is available for the parents of primary members at Rs. 100 each.
The hospitals where the cards can be used include: Kasturba Hospital; Shirdi Sai Baba Cancer Hospital; and Manipal College of Dental Sciences (at Manipal); KMC hospitals Attavar and Ambedkar Circle; and Manipal College of Dental Science, Hampankatta (Mangalore); and Dr. T.M.A Pai Hospital and Dr.T.M.A Pai Rotary Hospital (Udupi and Karkala respectively).
The Manipal Uma Hospital at Kasaragod would offer special rates and discounts for the card-holders, Dr. Warrier said.
