Beltangady, May 27: In an incident that occurred near Aladangady in the taluk on the night of Tuesday May 26, 12 pilgrims coming to Dharmasala from Dharwad sustained injuries. The vehicle plunged into the roadside drain at around 10.45 pm at the steep elevation near Alandagady after the driver lost control over the vehicle.
Out of the injured, six are in serious condition. They have been admitted into Mangalore Hospital. Others were treated at Beltangady government hospital.
The group of pilgrims was on its way to visit pilgrimage centres Dharmastala, Subrahmanya etc. A few children who were in the vehicles, were miraculously saved without any injuries. Injured Yallavva (48), Basavaraj (43), Narayan (38), Veerabhadrappa (55), Mahadevi (28) and Vinayak (3) have been admitted into a hospital in Mangalore.
