Mangalore, May 27: With the arrest of three more accused from Mysore district in the case relating to the murder of notorious ruffian Candle Santhu, the number of accused nabbed by the policemen so far in the case has risen to 11.
The arrested have been identified as Bhojaraj alias Bhoja (23) from Basaveshwar Block of K R Nagar taluk in Mysore district, Akram (24) from Narasegowda Hola of Saligrama and Mohammed Rashid (21) from Saligrama Double Tank Road, Mysore district. Two mobile phones were also seized from them. The arrests were made by the special intelligence squad of the district superintendent of police.
Santhu was hacked to death in broad daylight near his home at Badakabail within the limits of Bantwal rural police station, on February 18 this year. The policemen during the investigation, found that Bhojaraj and his two friends, who are rowdy-sheeters in Mysore district, had come two days in advance to the city and stayed in a lodge here, before the murder was committed. Bhojaraj reportedly had told his accomplices, that they would be paid one lac rupees each for the task.
Main accused Mohammed Kabir alias Akbar Kabir, Mohammed Harris, Abdul Rahiman, Mohammed Irfan,Mohammed Ismail, Sirajuddin, Habib and Farooq have already been arrested in this case.
