Mangaluru, Jul 4: Yenepoya Pharmacy College & Research Centre (YPCRC),Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) held two days faculty development programme (FDP) and basic skills workshop Education Methodology (Level – I, Phase – I) on June 27 and 28 to sensitize their staff about new concept in teaching and learning process.
Registrar Dr Gangadhara Somayaji presided the inaugural ceremony while the chief guest Dr. C S Shastry, principal Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NGSMIPS), Mangaluru and resource person Dr Munir Ahmed R, lead faculty (RAATI) & director, College Development Council, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), were welcomed from depth of heart by chairman Dr Mohammed Gulzar Ahmad, principal, YPCRC and his spiritual team.
The workshop was hosted in Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre in collaboration with GUHS and All India Pharmaceutical Association of India (APTI) with the aim to upgrade the Teaching and Learning Proficiency of Pharmaceutical Teachers. Dr Munir Ahmed R, the expert speaker oriented the participants to make a roadmap with Clear Vision and Mission for career development in the academic domain.
Twenty-seven delegates including, NGSMIPS, Mangaluru, PA College of Pharmacy, Mangaluru and Malik Deenar College of Pharmacy, Kasargod, Kerala, along with hosting institute.
Dr Sunil S Menghani, associate professor and Sandhya V, assistant professor actively contributed a lot as organizing secretary and co-ordinator respectively for making the moment unforgettable.
The main objective of organising workshop was to assist pharmaceutical teachers to acquire competency in communication and behavioural skills and to update knowledge using modern information & research methodology tools.
This is the third faculty development programme by the hosting institute within a short span after the establishment of institute.
