Beltangady, May 20: The drivers of trucks moving on the national highway 48 resorted to flash agitation at Kempuhalla region on Tuesday May 19 evening, against the alleged damage being caused to their vehicles by the detonated rocks.
The rocks are being detonated at the said place for road widening work. The drivers said that those engaged in detonation work have been careless and their vehicles get hit by flying stones often. They also expressed anger at not being warned in advance at the time of detonation.
As the region does not have telephone facility or mobile network, there was delay in passing the information on to the police personnel. Policemen from Marnahalli, Sakleshpur station came on the scene later, talked to the concerned and let the traffic move.
