Dubai, May 20: India opener Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday jumped to his career-best ICC Test ranking of number three, thanks to West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul's poor show in the recent series against England.
Gambhir gained one spot due to Chanderpaul's lacklustre performance in the two-match Test series that saw the West Indian slip two places from joint second in the previous chart to fourth position.
Sachin Tendulkar (13), VVS Laxman (15) and Virender Sehwag (20) remained unchanged in the batting chart headed by Pakistan's Younis Khan.
In the bowlers' list, gangly fast bowler Ishant Sharma broke into the top 20 while Harbhajan Singh continues to be the top Indian bowler at sixth position.
Senior fast bowler Zaheer Khan occupies 11th spot in the bowling list still headed by Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan.
No Indian player figures in the top five all rounders' list, which is headed by South African Jacques Kallis.
