Udupi, May 18: “Veda camps are essential for the new generation, in order to educate them about contemporary Vedic rituals and rites. It will empower the youth to create awareness on Vedic practices in the society”, said Sri Kalahastendra Saraswati Swami of Anegundi Mutt, Katpady, near here.
Swami Kalahastendra was speaking at the inauguration of the Veda summer camp, held at their Math in Katpady on Friday May 15.
Kalikamba Temple managing trustee Yogish Acharya presided over the inaugural ceremony of the camp.
Karkala Sri Kalikamba Temple trustee Kishore Acharya, Dakshina Kannada district Vishwa Brahman Vedic Sangh president Sridar Purohit, Katpady Hita Rakshan Vedike president Nagesh Acharya, and Katpady Sri Kalikamba Vishwa Karmeshwar Temple trustee Sundar Acharya, were the chief guests on the occasion.
Divakar Purohit welcomed the gathering while Lolaksha proposed the vote of thanks and B A Acharya Manipal compered the programme.
