Mangaluru, Jun 15: City police arrested Asghar Ali, a notorious rowdy, who is involved in nine cases, including two murder cases. He had fled to Dubai in 2007 on a fake passport.

Police got details of his duplicate passport and definite information that he has come back to India and is hiding somewhere in Uppala near here. A team of police including police inspector Kankanady Jagadeesh and sub inspector Shyamsundar was sent to nab him. The cops were successful in arresting the Asghar.

Police further informed that in 2005, Asghar was involved in murder of Pollali Anantu. He was also involved in murder of Target group Illyas. He was in Dubai then. He along with Dawood and others hatched conspiracy to kill. Also, after murder, he arranged hideout for accused in Mumbai. He was involved in cases along with Rashid Malabari and also made threat calls for ransom. He is also involved in a shootout case in Bengaluru. 

Police will investigate about his activities in Dubai during his stay there. In addition, they have arrested Nawaz and Rasheed who gave Asghar, the fake passport.

Police are investigating the case in different angles to assess the presence of any duplicate passport racket.
