Bengaluru, Jun 15: Home minister of the state M B Patil held a meeting with CM H D Kumaraswamy and senior officers of the home and finance departments of the state and discussed implementing the recommendations made by Raghavendra Auradkar committee. The Auradkar committee has recommended many measures including the revision of pay of the police personnel.
M B Patil said that the CM has sought a detailed report on the pay scale of personnel belonging to police, prison, fire service and emergency service departments. The CM will discuss the same with the financial department and arrive at a decision soon.
Speaking to the reporters after the meeting, Patil said, "Discussion on all the points recommended by the Auradkar committee is held in the meeting. I have appealed to the CM to approve the pay revision of police personnel and also the promotions."
"If the pay scale of the police is increased, it will create an additional burden of Rs 600 crore to the state exchequer. However, the CM has decided to consider the recommendations in the report this time and the finance department is also cooperating. We will give good news to the police personnel within 10 days," added Patil.
