Bengaluru, Jun 13: The issue of complaint and counter complaint has been making lot of noise within the Congress circles here.
Former minister, Roshan Baig, who had expressed his resentment publicly before the publication of result of Lok Sabha election against the state level leaders of the party as well as party's affairs in-charge for Karnataka, K C Venugopal, also met veteran Congress leaders, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel, and complained to them against former chief minister and chairman of coordination committee, Siddaramaiah. At the same time, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, has written to the high command, recommending action against Roshan baig for lashing out against the party leaders in the open.
Baig has been accusing Siddaramaiah of trying to have his say and exercise tight grip on everything and everyone in the party. He also has charged the former chief minister of not giving respect to other party leaders. "Siddaramaiah is directly responsible for the party's dismal performance in the state as far as Lok Sabha election is concerned. He behaves as if everything should move as per his dikat and that whatever he says should be the final word. As such, other leaders have no relevance or reputation in the party," he had said.
Baig also reportedly pointed out that because of not taking everyone into confidence in the party, original Congressmen have been pushed to a corner. "Siddaramaiah has not been allowing to properly run the coalition government. As he holds the positions of chairman of coordination committee and leader of the Congress legislature party, he wants the government to operate as per his whims and fancies. This is creating more misunderstanding between coalition partners," he had allegedly said.
Baig, when asserting that he has nothing against the party and its top bosses, had complained that even KPCC president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, follows the orders of Siddaramaiah. This has effectively meant that the party in Karnataka is in Siddaramaiah’s control, Baig stated. Baig had asked the high command to consider this situation and set right the things by bringing these things to the notice of All India Congress Committee president, Rahul Gandhi.
KPCC president has reportedly recommended to the high command to take action against Baig for openly levelling charges against K Venugopal. He pointed out that although Baig was served with a notice seeking explanation for his outbursts, he had not replied to the notice. As Baig is current MLA and member of AICC, KPCC president cannot act against him. Therefore he has asked AICC to act against the former minister.
