Kuwait: Shoun meeting to solve stranded youngsters’ problems adjourned

Mangaluru, Jun 11: The meeting that had been arranged on Monday, June 10 to find a permanent solution to the problems being faced by a group of youngsters from here at Kuwait who had gone to that country on the basis of promise of employment, did not happen. In the pas too, these meetings have been adjourned often.

The Shoun in Kuwait, a government-run arrangement that functions like a court, had planned to hear everyone's version at the Monday meeting. But at the last minute, the meeting was cancelled.

On the basis of information about the meeting being held, 74 stranded Indians had arrived at the venue by bus. The company which had employed the young men had not made arrangements for their travel. Raj Bhandary, an Indian origin citizen living Kuwait, arranged for the bus. Shoun officials made the petitioners to wait for three hours. They came thereafter, but cut short the meeting midway, it is learnt.
