Bengaluru, Jun 11: The state high court (HC) has refused to uphold a plea made by G Janardhan Reddy, partner of M/s S B Logistics Company from Ballari, to drop the hearing that is going on against him in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court. The special court is hearing a case in which Reddy has accused of illegally transporting iron ore from Belekeri port in Uttara Kannada district.
The single judge bench of the HC presided over by Justice Alok Aradhe passed an order, dismissing the application moved by Reddy seeking to quash the hearing going on against him.
In their second charge sheet, CBI officials had accused Janardhan Reddy of illegally transporting about 20,000 metric tonnes of iron ore from Belekeri port, thus causing a loss of Rs 90 crore to the state's exchequer. CBI special court is hearing the case. But Reddy had approached the HC seeking to dismiss both the charge sheet as well as hearing on it.
