Bengaluru, Jun 9: B S Yeddyurappa, state president of BJP said that the proposed expansion of the cabinet on June 12 by Congress and JD (S) partners in the alliance government will just add fuel to fury and increase the dissidence.
Yeddyurappa opined that if the rumour of making two independent MLAs as ministers is true, then the unrest among the MLAs in the ruling coalition will increase.
Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy had said that there will be expansion of the cabinet on June 12. He gave this statement after he met Governor Vajubhai Vala. This decision was taken after long discussions with the Congress leaders after the humiliating defeat in the Lok Sabha elections that were held recently.
This step is being taken to quell the unrest among the MLAs in the coalition partners, especially those belonging to the Congress party.
Yeddyurappa further said that the internal issues of the coalition partners have put an end to the development works in the state. He also opined that the government will not stay for long given the infighting between both the partners.
Yeddyurappa clarified that BJP will not force themselves to form the government and will remain as the opposition party. He asked the coalition government to resign if they cannot conduct their duties in a proper manner.
