Bengaluru: Using abusive language against Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy - Two held

Bengaluru, Jun 9: Two persons were taken into custody by police personnel of High Grounds station here. They have been accused of creating a video in which JD(S) national president, H D Deve Gowda, Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, and his son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, are derided in abusive language. The video was later uploaded on Facebook.

The persons arrested happen to be Siddaraju (29) from Ramanagara district, and Chamaraju (24), a resident of Singarajapur in Channapatna in the outskirts of the city. Siddaraju is said to be working for a petrol station while Chamaraju works as mechanic.


Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy 

The duo created the video clip in question after the Lok Saba election result was announced on May 23. The video which contains abusive language soon went viral in social media.

A person named Lokesh filed complaint in High Grounds police station, seeking action against the accused. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case, identified the accused, and arrested them.
