Mangaluru, Jun 5: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists urged Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner to conduct a probe with regard to the assault of Samputa Narasimha Math employee in Subramanya.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, June 5, VHP leader M B Puranik alleged conspiracy by some miscreants to create misunderstanding between Samputa Narasimha Math and Subramanya temple. “Devotees had offered Sarpa Samskara ritual in the Math. An employee of the Math named Kumara Banninthaya tried to help them with the ritual. Two people namely Guruprasad and Prashanth Bhat had objected this move and assaulted him in the presence of temple executive officer Ravindra,” said Puranik.
"Guruprasad and Prashanth Bhat do not have any connection with the temple and attacked the employee in the presence of Muzrai department officials. Deputy commissioner should now probe this matter and take stringent action. There are lot of disputes between temple and the Math. If the devotees offer any ritual in the Math, it does impact the temple's income because the devotees keep visiting the temple. No one has the right to question the religious rights in the name of temple's ritual,” he said.
VHP secretary Sharan Pumpwell said," Pejawar Swamiji will visit the temple on June 7 to discuss about the disputes between the temple and the Math. Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal will take part in the meeting to find a solution to the disputes between temple and the Math.”
VHP district president Jagadish Shenava, Bhujanga Kulal and Shivanand Mendon and others were present.
