Mangaluru, Jun 5: "I will not accept the 'Grama Swarna' challenge posed to all the 28 MPs from the state by 'Yuva Brigade' guide, Chakravarthi Sulibele. But I will implement the suggestions put forth by him for the development of villages located within my constituency," said Dakshina Kannada member of parliament, Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Nalin said that he had, during his previous term, developed Balpa as a model village. He added that during this term too he will select a village and ensure its overall development. Therefore, he reasoned, he will not be able to accept the above challenge, but will accept all good suggestions he or any other people might put forth towards this end.
The above challenge was posed to 28 MPs of Karnataka through a tweet. A week back, Yuva Brigade had undertaken this campaign for developing a village named Doddane within Kollegal taluk, Chamarajanagar district, which is deprived of basic facilities.
The 'Grama Swarga' challenge has already been accepted by Mysuru MLA Pratap Simha, Bengaluru (south) MP Tejasvi Surya, and Chikkodi MP Annasaheb Jolle. These MPs have to join hands with young activists who will be choosing villages for being developed.
