Hubballi, Jun 4: MLC and senior JD(S) leader Basavaraj Horatti has alleged that former CM Siddaramaiah asserting control has become a hurdle for smooth functioning of the JD(S)-Congress coalition in state.
Horatti told reporters in Hubballi on Tuesday that coalition is not able to perform as per the agreement, as Congress is throwing obstacles in its functioning.
He came down heavily against coalition government coordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah, whose constant interference has posed problems.
“Janata Dal (S) state president H Vishwanath had tried to convince JD(S) supremo H D Devegowda with regard to Siddaramaiah’s interference and was against of having him in the coordination committee. It is unfortunate that Vishwanath quit,” he said.
He also said that though it was decided that the chairperson for the legislative council will be from JD(S), again Congress failed to keep up to its word.
Soon after the Lok Sabha polls, when JD(S) and Congress were showing that coalition is going strong, Horatti had dropped the bomb stating the assembly should be dissolved and a fresh mandate should be called. Even that time, he had blamed Siddaramaiah for raking up confusions and creating a suffocating environment for the coalition to function.
