Bantwal, Jun 3: Six-year-old Chirag is battling between life and death. Diagnosed with a life threatening vein blockage in the brain, an angiogram can save his life but his parents do not have the means to afford the treatment.
Chirag is son of Anil and Pavitra, residents of Koila village in Bantwal. Chirag was studying in first standard and everything was going well until he suffered a vein blockage in the brain. A week ago, he collapsed when he was playing and slipped into a coma.
His parents rushed him to a local hospital and as per the advice of the doctors got Chirag shifted to KMC hospital in Mangaluru.
The doctors after check-up found that there is a blockage in his brain and an urgent angiogram can save his life. According to Dr Keerthiraj B, who is treating Chirag, the removal of the blockage is a very delicate job and the entire treatment costs Rs 8 lac.
Chirag’s father is a coolie worker and mother ekes an income by rolling beedis. The family is unable to bear the huge expenses needed for the treatment.
The family is in desperate need of the financial support and prayers.
