Bengaluru, Jun 2: The state government has once again warned the management of schools of cancelling the accreditation given to them if they give homework to students of first and second standards.
The state government has already sent an order on May 3 stating that from the academic year of 2019-20 homework should not be given to students. But the private and aided schools had challenged the order of the government at that time. So, the government has given strict second warning to all the schools.
In a revised order that was sent on May 31, the government has instructed that the accreditation of the schools can be cancelled of they give homework to students of first and second standards and also if they teach any lessons other than prescribed by the The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for students of first to fifth standards.
For the students of first and second standards except language and Maths and for students of third to fifth standards except language, environmental science and Maths, none of the other subjects have to be taught. The government has given instructions to the commissioner of the education department, project director and deputy directors to keep a strict vigil on schools which teach any subject apart from the one prescribed by the board.
