Bengaluru, Jun 2: Chief minister (CM) H D Kumaraswamy met Former chief minister and president of the coordinating committee of the coalition partners Siddaramaiah on the night of Saturday, June 1 at the Cauvery residence of the latter and discussed the present political developments in the state.
Independent MLA R Shankar was called to the residence of Siddaramaiah and discussion was held with him in the presence of H D Kumaraswamy. At the same time, one more independent MLA R Nagesh also met Siddaramaiah and joined the discussion. It is almost confirmed that both the independent MLAs will join the state cabinet. Only the date of the extension of the cabinet needs to be finalized.
In the discussion that lasted for more than 45 minutes, Siddaramaiah advised Kumaraswamy not to allow BJP to conduct 'Operation Lotus' at any cost.
If two out of the three vacant posts in the state cabinet are given to the independent MLAs it will be a tit for tat for the 'Operation Lotus' that the BJP is trying to conduct at present. Their numbers will not increase and their operation can also be contained.
It is also said that Siddaramaiah advised Kumaraswamy to take all the MLAs into confidence and work in unity. Siddaramaiah also suggested Kumaraswamy to hold a joint session of legislative party to hold discussion in this regard.
