Bantwal, Jun 1: Nitin Poojary, a resident of Loretto Pedamale here, who was working abroad, had come back home three months back. Three people together beat him up badly on the night of May 30. The injured stands admitted into the community health centre here.
Nitin said in a complaint he filed with the police that locals, Vasu Poojary, and his children, Rakesh and Chethan, assaulted him besides robbing Rs 60,000 in cash he had in his pocket. He also stated that the Bullet motor bike which he was riding was damaged by the trio.
Nitin currently resides in a rented house at Marnabail near here. He had planned to build a house and sink a bore well in the land belonging to him at Pedamale. He was returning home after visiting his land late on Thursday evening when the accused assaulted him, it is said.
The accused also got admitted into the hospital and filed counter complaint. The police personnel of the town station here, who have registered the cases, are of the opinion that the attack would have been backed by personal enmity.
