Abu Dhabi, May 31: Even as Narendra Modi was administered oath office as Prime Minister of India for the second term in succession, UAE showed in ample measure its happiness at this event. UAE and India have always nurtured a strong mutual bond of bilateral relationship.
Elaborate lighting arrangements were made at the Adnoc Group headquarters at Abu Dhabi. This building, which is unique, was lit up in myriad colours as the lighting arrangements came to life. Flags of India and UAE were seen prominently illuminated in the building along with the portraits of Narendra Modi and Abu Dhabi crown prince and deputy supreme commander of UAE armed forces, HH Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Adnoc headquarters, which houses the headquarters of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, happens to be an important landmark of Abu Dhabi.
The close ties between India and the UAE can be gauged from the fact that PM Modi was conferred the prestigious Zayed medal by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan last month.
The order of Zayed is UAE’s highest civil decoration and is awarded to the heads of governments/states for strengthening bilateral ties with the UAE. Making this announcement the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed Bin Zayed had tweeted, “We have historical and comprehensive strategic ties with India, reinforced by the pivotal role of my dear friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave these relations a big boost. In appreciation of his efforts, the UAE President grants him the Zayed Medal.”
