Ministers in the outgoing cabinet D V Sadananda Gowda and Nirmala Sitharaman with Hubballi- Dharwad MP Prahlad Joshi and Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi are MPs chosen by BJP.
While Nirmala Sitharaman is Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, other three are Lok Sabha MPs who recently won.
They will be sworn in as Union ministers on Thursday, May 30 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the second time.
All the four leaders received phone calls from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), inviting them to join the government headed by Narendra Modi.
The party took into account seniority while making the choice of ministers, BJP sources said.
Both Joshi and Angadi are four-time MPs of the party from Karnataka. Though Uttara Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde is senior most among all MPs from Karnataka, it is still not clear whether he will be inducted or not. Hegde was minister of the state for skill development in the outgoing government.
