Bengaluru, May 30: A major fire broke out at Kempegowda International Airport premises on early Wednesday May 29 morning. However, it was brought to control by fire-fighters.
Airport officials confirmed there was no loss to life, injuries or disruption in flight operations.
According to sources the fire was caused due to short circuit.
Officials from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) said that it occurred away from the terminal at a food and beverage outlet.
"Trained personnel on the scene extinguished the fire using fire fighting equipment. An in-depth fire safety audit is being carried out. The affected area has been cordoned off and temporarily closed," the official said.

A video uploaded on YouTube by a user shows security staff attempting to douse the blaze with water hoses. The video ends after the blaze is put off.
