Hubballi, May 29: A police constable from Hubballi Rural Police station has won the hearts of netizens, after playing melodious music on his lathi.
Nicknamed by the netizens as ‘pied piper of Hubballi’, 52-year-old Chandrakant Hutgi, a police constable and talented musician found a unique way to merge his passion and profession.
He turned his 'lathi' (a fibre baton used for defence) into a flute.
His creativity was appreciated by additional director general of police, Bengaluru, Bhaskar Rao who shared a video of Hutgi playing folk song 'Kodana Kodi Nungitha' on his flute cum lathi on his Twitter handle.
The video soon went viral and has garnered over 12,000 views and praises from netizens. While many applauded his creativity, some even gave it a humorous twist saying that the constable can literally make lawbreakers dance to the tunes of his lathi.
