Bengaluru, May 28: The special investigation team (SIT) headed by additional police commissioner, B K Singh that probed the mysterious murder case of journalist, Gauri Lankesh, has been handsomely rewarded. The government has announced reward of Rs 25 lac to the team which cracked this difficult case.
B K Singh had recently written to the home ministry seeking a reward of Rs 25 lac for his team.

The said case had posed a challenge to police department. The team which worked hard for a year had succeeded in arresting the accused from various parts of the state. This probe also helped in bringing into the open the killers of rationalists, Narendra Dhabolkar and Govind Pansare in Maharashtra which had remained unresolved. On the basis of leads provided by the team, Central Bureau of Investigation officials had arrested the killers of the rationalists.
SIT chief, B K Singh, and deputy commissioner of police, Anuchet, had come in for appreciation for heir method of functioning. The reward will go to about 90 persons who worked for this SIT.
