Udupi: Daijiworld TV celebrates 5th anniv in style, Maanvi Jain is Junior Masti champ

Udupi, May 27: The fifth anniversary of Daijiworld 24x7 TV and the award ceremony of its mega stage show ‘Junior Masti-2 ‘was held at the Poorna Prajna College auditorium in the city on Sunday, May 26.

A special entertainment programme by dancers of ‘Junior Masti’, singers of ‘Mojho Tallo Gaitalo’ and artistes of ‘Mrs Meena and Family’ of around three hours duration was watched by crowd and supporters of finalists.

Maanvi M Jain was the winner of the dance contest, while Chaithanya took the first runner up position. Saanvi Shanbhag and Nihali Rai bagged second runner-up.

 

Earlier during the stage show, all sponsors, coordinators and anchors as well as prominent artistes who contributed to the success of Daijiworld TV were felicitated.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, Director, Udupi Communications, Diocese of Udupi, Anil Lobo, Fermai, Chairman, MCC Bank , Jacintha D’Souza, Canara Beach Restaurant, Hoode, Deepak, Sales Officer, Sun Premium Oil, Kishore Gonsalves and Alexis Castelino who are well-known in the Konkani world, inaugurated the show.

In his inaugural speech Fr Valerian said, “Daijiworld TV is a sensation of coastal Karnataka. With various entertainment and news-based programmes, today it has become a strong competitor for satellite channels. Daijiworld Media got good leadership and the quality of this leadership reflects in content. I congratulate the management and staff on their fifth anniversary and wish them more fruitful years ahead.”

Welcoming the dignitaries and gathering, Walter Nandalike, Founder, Daijiworld Group of Media, said, “We are happy to announce that we have completed five years in broadcast industry and reached the people of coastal Karnataka who are spread on all corners of the world. As per us, the number ‘five’ is a milestone. In Udupi, we are working with the support of Kishoo Enterprises. On this occasion I thank all our viewers, advertisers and supporters and expect the same support in future also. We will continue our mission and we will stand with people by becoming their voice.”

In his introductory speech, Alexis Castelino, Managing Director, Daijiworld24x7 TV said, “Daijiworld Media group has 19 years of history and it never lagged behind in raising the voice of the people. The news impact stories themselves say, how we are committed to the society. Through our news website, Daijiworld.com, we have helped hundreds of needy, especially the poor people, who were suffering from various diseases. We have helped in distributing Rs 19 crore to the needy by appealing to our readers. Daijiworld TV has now become one of the favorite media of coastal region because of its straight-forward journalism. We the management are thankful to all our viewers, readers and supporters.”

Actor and comedian C K Prashanth entertained the crowd with his rib-tickling comedy dialogues. Kishoo Barkur, Managing Director, Kishoo Enterprises rendered vote of thanks.

M Nagesh Hedge, Honorary President, Engineers and Architects Association, Udupi and owner of Swadesh Hotel , Anil Lobo, Fermai, Chairman, MCC Bank, Deepak, Sales Officer, Sun Premium Oil and Roshan D’Souza, Entrepreneur announced the names of winners of Junior Masti - Season 2. Nisar Ahmed, Production Manager and Ashith Pinto, Managing Director, Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd were present on the dais.

The winners were awarded with cheque, trophy and certificates.

Earlier during the stage show all sponsors, coordinators and anchors as well as prominent artistes who contributed to the success of Daijiworld TV were honoured.

Well known TV anchors and emcees Chetan Shetty and Sharmila Amin compered the event.
