Bantwal, May 25: Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament (MP), Nalin Kumar Kateel, predicted that BJP government under B S Yeddyurappa's leadership will take charge of the state within a week since the new government under Narendra Modi rises to power at the centre. He was addressing the party's activists during his visit to BJP office at B C Road here, which happened to be his first visit here after registering a hat-trick of victories, on Friday May 24 night.
Nalin pointed out that Dakshina Kannada district had got maximum grants when Yeddyurappa was the chief minister of the state. He also felt that if the same party rules at the centre and the state, it helps in bringing additional grants. "This election has proved that the people do not approve of luxurious style of family politics. Prime Minister, Modi, has laid emphasis on sacrifice and a life of detachment from luxuries, and the people have approved his principles," he noted.
"Dakshina Kannada district has been electing BJP MPs since the last 28 years, and it now has seven BJP MLAs. It has realized Modi's concept of Congress-free rule. By electing 25 BJP MPs in Karnataka, the people have rid Karnataka of Congress party. The Congress is even ineligible to be officially recognized as opposition party," he stated.
MLA, Rajesh Naik, speaking after honouring the MP, said that Bantwal constituency has proved itself as a strong fortress of the BJP with his election with a margin of over 32,000 votes as compared to previous election. State BJP associate spokesperson, Sulochana G K Bhat, district spokesperson, Harikrishna Bantwal, district vice president, G Anand, block committee general secretary, Monappa Devasya, party leaders, Dinesh Amtoor, Dinesh Bhandary, Purushotham Shetty Vamadapadavu, Vasantkumar Annalike, Vajranath Kalladka, Bollukallu Narayana Poojary, Ranjith Myra, Pramod Kumar Ajjibetty, Santosh Kuar Bettu, Harish Acharya and municipal councillors were present.
