Bengaluru, May 23: Former chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, who had chosen not to react to his own party leader, Roshan Baig's tweet about him being egotist on Tuesday, hit back on Wednesday May 22. In his tweet, Siddaramaiah said that he speaks in colloquial rural language which is always straight forward and tough. He said that only those who have self respect and honest have the straight and harsh personality, but for people habituated to artificial behaviour find this to be arrogant and egotism, he hit back in his tweet.
"We always stand for the general public and the poor. Therefore, we need not give much importance to the statement of Baig. Roshan was desirous of becoming a minister, and then also aspired to get Lok Sabha ticket. As he could not get any of them, he has been issuing angry statements. Congress party will be taking steps against him," Siddaramaiah said.

Siddaramaiah however refused to react to the statement made by JD(S) state president, H Vishwanath about his failure as the chairman of coordination committee. Speaking at Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said that he chooses not to speak on the issue openly as Vishwanath does not belong to his party. He said he will raise the topic at the meeting of the coordination committee.
Continuing his tirade against Siddaramaiah, Vishwanath, speaking at Kolar on Wednesday, charged the former chief minister of having failed in keeping the people abreast of the achievements of the coalition government. "I do not have any personal enmity against Siddaramaiah. As Siddaramaiah has not worked to expectations in his capacity of the chairman of the coordination committee, anyone can question him on this issue," he insisted. He also said that the chief minister has the grit to bear the harassment from the Congressmen for full five years. He noted that people do not want elections to be held before the full term of five years, duly pointing out that holding of election afresh needs crores of rupees.
