Mangaluru, May 22: Rajesh Poojary, leader of All India Hindu Maha Sabha was arrested by the police for celebrating the birthday of Nathuram Godse inspite of prevailing controversies on Godse in the country.
On May 19, Godse’s birthday was celebrated by Hindu Maha Sabha and floral tributes were offered to his portrait.
In this celebration, which took place at one Vishwanath at Ashraya Colony, state president of Hindu Maha Sabha L K Suvarna also took part.
A suo moto case was registered against five people in the Ullal police station in this regard. The case was filed against state convener of Hindu Maha Sabha Rajesh Poojary, chief secretary of All India Hindu Maha Sabha Dharmendra and activists Vishwanath Poojary and Lohith.
Police have taken Rajesh Poojary into custody for interrogation.
