Mangaluru, May 20: A faculty development programme (FDP) was held for teachers of Shakthi residential school and P U College, Shakthinagar on May 18. Gopalakrishna temple managing trustee K C Naik lighted the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
He said that the knowledge of teachers should not be like stagnant water. “Teachers should conduct continuous research and upgrade their skills and indulge in teaching. They should be friends to students and always help to solve their problems. They should inspire students to study without any pressure,” he said.
College lecturer Prabhaker G S welcomed. Shakthi education trust management officials Bykadi Janardhan Achar spoke of the need of continuous training during the service period of teachers. Shakthi residential school lecturer Vidya Kamath rendered vote of thanks.
Resource persons Sharad Viharidas and Prabhaker Shetty from training institute Bhakthi Vedanta Academy for Cultural and Character education spoke on contest. Shakthi education institute trustee Dr Muralidhar Naik, development officer Nasim Banu and chief adviser Ramesh K were present.
