Mangaluru, May 18: A youth who was employed in Dubai was brutally murdered by two persons on the night of Friday May 17.
The deceased has been identified as Naveen (29), son of Rama Bhandary, a resident of Kundottu, Mijar.
Naveen was speaking to his friend Avinash (28) at Doomachadavu, Daddi Cross in Mijar when he was bludgeoned to death. Naveen had come there after visiting Kateel temple with Avinash in a bike.
While the two were standing there, Ramesh (35) and Nityanand (40), who were known to Naveen, arrived there in a bike. They questioned Naveen about neglecting their phone calls. When Naveen retorted asking why he needs to pick their calls, they began to quarrel with him, before hitting him with a wooden stick, it is gathered.
Naveen, who collapsed to the ground, died on the spot. The murder was committed at around 11.30 pm on Friday.
A case relating to this murder was registered in Bajpe police station under Indian Penal Code.
It is learnt that Naveen was working in hotel management sector in Dubai and he had come back to his hometown three months ago. It is said that this murder happened on account of some monetary dispute.
The mortal remains of the deceased were kept in the mortuary of the district Wenlock Hospital pending postmortem. No one has been arrested relating to this incident so far.
