New Delhi, May 17: National president of the BJP, Amit Shah, has said that the statements made by union minister, Ananth Kumar Hegde, MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, and Lok Sabha candidate, Sadhvi Pragya Singh were their personal views, and BJP has nothing to do with them. He also noted that the leaders have withdrawn their statements and apologised.
"Still, our party has taken these statements seriously as they are against the tenets of public life and high standard set by the BJP. We have referred the matter to disciplinary committee. The committee has written to these three persons, seeking their explanations. Instructions have been issued to place a report on these explanations within ten days before the party leadership," he stated.
It may be recalled that Nalin Kumar had commented that Godse had killed only one person whereas Rajiv Gandhi murderers had killed 17,000.
Nalin Kumar later removed his Twitter post.
