Mangaluru: Shreemathi’s grisly murder for measly amount - How police cracked case

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 16: Shreemathi Shetty had visited the house of Jonas Julin Samson and Victoria Mathias couple residing at Sooterpet on May 11 to demand repayment of the remaining amount of Rs 60,000 due to her. On this occasion, hot words were exchanged, and the couple killed her on the spot. The couple which cut the body into pieces thereafter, spent the entire day in the company of mutilated body parts, it is said. The police have recovered the weapons used to chop the body. Interestingly, even neighbours living close to the couple's current residence at Sooterpet did not have any inkling of this gruesome murder.

The police, who checked CCTV footage at various places in the city, found out that Shreemathi Shetty, instead of going to her shop in her scooter after leaving home, went to Sooterpet. The footage showed her reaching till ninth cross at Sooterpet between 9 and 9.30 am that day. The police relied on this clinching clue to close in on the murder plan.

Besides, the employees of the electrical appliances repair shop owned by Shreemathi told the police about the loan obtained by Samson from Shreemathi and that discussions had taken place on this long-pending repayment often. Although three teams were investigating the murder from different angles, till the night of May 14, the police had not been able to lay their hands on the culprits. Although the police questioned over 20 people including Sudeep, second husband of Shreemathi who is currently in jail, and also interrogated four more who had contacts with the murdered lady by taking them into custody, they could not get any clue.

The police who were questioning people who had dealings with Shreemathi located the address of Samson and went to his home on Tuesday night. Although the police repeatedly knocked at the door, Samson did not open the door. The suspicion of the police got strengthened by his behaviour, and they entered the house by removing tiles, and arrested Samson. When the police came in, Samson tried to commit suicide by hitting his own head with a heavy knife and hence has been admitted into a hospital for treatment of head injury. Samson also faces a murder and another murder attempt case registered in the past, the police stated. They also revealed that the cell phone of Shreemathi was found in the two-wheeler belonging to her.

It is learnt that during verbal friction, Samson had hit Shreemathi Shetty in the head with a wooden block at which she collapsed and died on the spot. Samson told the police that he had only a two-wheeler with him and hence did not have facility to transport the entire body in it. He therefore decided to cut the body into pieces and dispose them in an attempt to destroy evidence. After scattering pieces of the body at various places, he kept the two-wheeler in the house of a friend, Raju. The police have also questioned Raju. The finger rings and gold chain which Shreemathi wore were recovered from the possession of Samson by the police. They also got information that he had tried to raise a loan by pledging these ornaments.

Samson was facing losses in his fast food business and hence had closed it down since a month. He was not even able to pay the rent of the house properly. He had been asked to vacate the house by the owner, it is said.

times like the present where people( cavemen?) value their selfishness over mutual respect and stoop to any level! Encountered an incident about 3 years back where two women(old age sisters) sent their dogs(the dogs also looked like them somehow-tiny, frail and diseased)on a girl only because she parked outside-and this was a public road, not their own also! Can imagine our dear ooru going towards petty and cheap ways with mentals like these.

Samson the murderer he tried to commit suicide by hitting knife on his forehead what kind of suicide it is??? Instead he would have stabbed himself....... Really not convinced with the narration given by the culprits at all.... Single man can't manage to go and put these body parts various places.... Investigation shouldn't be stopped assuming murderers are caught.... These may be kind of supari killers who earlier engaged in murder cases..... Earlier told they attacked her in lethal weapons now above news says hit in wooden block two different statements.....

I had the same impression from the beginning of this case. It is not easy to murder someone and spread the parts around the city. Do they look like capable of such a thing ? Even if they did it, why would they throw the parts in places where they would be found easily ? Surely some supari killer has done this and this couple has been framed for some reasons best known to them. I feel the police are also not telling the entire truth. They are just projecting it as their success in solving the case.

I do mention, that Mangalore police personnel are efficient, well experienced in cracking this murder case. But few questions arise.
    a. For Mangalore/ Kerala standard, is Rs.60,000 is a big money to go for murder by these murderer couple.
    b. Being they are staying in rented house, definitely they are being surrounded by neighbours too. The murder has taken place at morning time around 9.30 am, as per the write up in this forum. Then, isn't it, the neighbours haven't heard any noise.
    c. How can they cut the dead body into pieces and how the couple had managed to clean the floor, of the blood strains while cutting the dead body into pieces.
    d. Being wife is 46 years and husband is 36 years, why the wife has not informed the police. Is she had any threat from outsiders apart from the husband. Cutting body is not like cutting fish.
    e. How did they manage to throw the parts of dead body in different places. Why the couple did not run from their houses to other places in order to escape. This means, might be, there is a third eye observing their movement. Something really fishy hear.
Hope our police personnel will catch the real ring leader.

there are many loose ends here...first, is Ms shetty doing electricals repair business or money lending...
why a person would lend to a person accused of murder and attempt to murder...
how can she go alone to the house of such a criminal?
how can a criminal accused of murder and attempted murder be a free man running a fast food business?
since ms shetty's jailed husband and the alleged killer, both of them being criminals...is there dealing between husband and the killer? Sherlock holmes is required...

Nothing to do with Mrs. shetty's personal life. That's her life she was living no one has the right to question when she has not caused any harm to the society rather she was helping. She had every right to live in this society.. Who has given the authority to kill her?

People are speaking ill about her in public. And the man who murdered her and who has involved in two murder cases is still good. Wah re Wah.. What mentality of our people. Those of you knew about Mrs. Shettys characters before, why you all didn't bring it to the notice of the police or court or could not speak publicly?

shreemathi shetty's husband sandeep is in jail & she owns an electrical shop. after loan re-payments from jonas julin samson, 60,000 was balance receivable 2 shreemathi shetty. i doubt in da balance amount shreemathi shetty illegally claiming.
4 merely 60,000 balance of amount nobody will kill. i further doubt some third person's hand is involved in it becoz she gives money on buddy, interest. over all an innocent person is caught.

David this murderer involved in two murder cases before. This is the third one.. Fourth one he tried on himself hitting his head to commit suicide.. Tell me how you can call him innocent dear? He is innocent.. Shreemathi who is not involved in crime is not innocent.. Wife helped him because of his monstrous character. Such a huge and strong fellow cannot work on daily wages and earn his income? Good wages are there in Mangalore depending on the work along with food and tea for twice.. Cutting the trees, breaking the wood, cleaning the wells, cleaning the tanks pay them so much money.. He knows only to cut humans..
