Bengaluru, May 11: The 'suspicious' man who refused to be frisked at Majestic metro station sending the cops into tizzy is identified as a homeless man named Sajid Khan.
A native of Rajasthan, Sajid begs for alms near a mosque near the metro.
On the day of the incident, Sajid decided to take the metro for the very first time in his life. He had many coins, given to him as alms.
When Sajid approached security, the scanner triggered an alarm. When the security questioned him, Sajid who did not know Kannada could not understand them. He became nervous thinking he had done something wrong and left the station.
The Bengaluru city police formed four teams to trace Sajid and finally tracked him near the mosque.
Meanwhile, another person named Riyas Ahmed, a regular commuter of the metro approached police to file a complaint. Riyas entered the station just before Sajid and some media channels identified him to be the suspect.
Riyas, who is running a watch repair shop for over 30 years in his complaint grieved that he has been branded a terrorist and all look at him in suspicion.
Even though the ‘mysterious man’ is traced and cops have ruled out threat from him, high alert and stringent checks are still in place as an aftermath to Sri Lanka terror bombings.
