Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a petty fight over Rs 10 cost a 38-year-old Bengalurean his life.
Bharani Dharan, working in a tile store visited Lavanya theatre on St John’s Road around 4.30 pm on Thursday May 9 to watch Tamil film Kanchana 3.
As the movie had already begun, he hurriedly parked his two-wheeler and dashed into the theatre. He was stopped by parking attendant Selvaraj, who asked him to pay Rs 10 as parking fee.

Dharan promised to pay him on his return as he lacked change. When Selvaraj refused, the duo got into a verbal spat. In anger, Dharan allegedly hit Selvaraj’s face with his two-wheeler keys.
Shekar, a housekeeper rushed to Selvaraj’s rescue. Both allegedly dragged Dharan to a room and brutally assaulted him.
Meanwhile, another person who visited the theatre to watch the film called the police control room. Dharan who sustained severe injuries on head and chest was taken to Bowring hospital by the police but declared brought dead.
Selvaraj was arrested from the theatre, while Shekar who went absconding was arrested on May 10 after the cops tracked his call records.
