Mangaluru: Water leakage from fish trucks - 6 vehicles seized in two days

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, May 9: Police commissioner Sandeep Patil, who had warned the trucks transporting fish of spilling water emanating bad odour in the city, has swung into swift action and implemented the rule immediately.

As a result of the quick action, police have confiscated six vehicles transporting fish that did not abide by the rules, on the morning of Thursday, May 9.

The police department had served notice on May 6 to all the trucks and tempos transporting fish prohibiting them from spilling the water from the vehicles onto the road citing the order sent by National Green Tribunal (NGT) in the year 2015. This action comes right after serving the notice.

The police commissioner has tweeted about the confiscation of vehicles on his twitter account.

Sandeep Sir, has done a marvellous job by seizing 6 vehicles. Many tempos and mini lorries are also transporting fish without any proper arrangements and they also spill water on roads continously causing accidents because of slippery of roads. Kudos to you and to your team. Meantime I draw your attention to the lorries that carries garbage etc. in the morning hours that spills garbage etc. on roads and stink also eminates from these lorries while transporting garbage and sometimes dirty water also leaks and fall on roads giving stink smell and the pedestrians and two wheeler riders are the sufferers. Take action against such trucks also.

Yes sir, you have showed the courage. But my suggestion that , transporting fish to kerala costel area or karnataka coastal area or to Tamilnadu area , it is better to transport through Boat or small ships. So this problem will solve . Fish suppliers and buyers must start transporting mode.

Change in mode of transport is really good idea. Its will reduce the traffic on roads, road life spam will increase & most important is, save the life by these trucks accident.
May be it required special permit to transport the fishes throw sailing. Also it may open room for smuggling of goods from one state to another state.

Its an real trouble maker for two wheelers as well as pedestrian. Many were met in accident due to these causes. Even trucks were overloaded & it will reduce the road life spam.

When will the police seize construction equipment kept on footpaths, roads and etc.? The building contractors have made it a habit by occupying public place when a private building is coming up. The authorities are least bothered.
