Yadagiri, May 8: BJP candidate from Kalaburagi constituency, Umesh Jadhav, has charged Congress leaders of having caused his younger daughter to fail in the second PU examination.
During his interaction with a television channel, Jadhav claimed that even before the recent political upheavals taking place, Priyank Kharge had plotted to oust him from the Congress. "Those close to Priyank came home and created a scene during the marriage ceremony of my son. Our relatives who had come to the marriage from far off places, after seeing the din created by these people, went back to their native places the same night," he claimed.

Jadhav accused Congress leaders of spreading the falsehood that he had accepted money for changing the party. "When my daughter went to appear for her PU examination, a teacher there told her that her father had been sold. She therefore was deeply hurt, and did not appear for the examination. Instead, she came back home, and tried to end her life by consuming certain tablets. My wife by chance saw her, and we succeeded in saving her life," Jadhav said.
Umesh said that since the time Lok Sabha election was announced, Congress leaders have been launching personal attacks on him. He said that on account of lies spread by the Congress, his family members have wilted mentally. He accused the Congressmen for insulting his daughter by falsely telling her that he had accepted money. "The Congress leaders, instead of confining themselves to development, are making unfounded allegations that are outright false, against me," he said.
