Daijiworld Media Network - Kalaburagi (SP)
Kalaburagi, May 7: "We, on our own, will not make an effort to destabilize the state government. We are aware that the future of the government depends on the stand that might be taken by 20 ruling party legislators who are unhappy at the functioning style of the current government. If the government falls on account of internal bickering, BJP will not just watch the situation without doing anything," said state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday May 6, Yeddyurappa said that the Congress and JD(S) have already begun to fight with each other. "Everyone has seen what leaders have done during Lok Sabha election. The voter response would be out on May 23. We will have to watch the move of the leaders after the result. If the government totters, we will not remain as silent observers, as we have not given up worldly connections," he stated.
Yeddyurappa predicted that his party will win 23 seats in Karnataka in tune with the findings of the internal survey. He said that Kalaburagi, Kolar and Tumakuru will be among the 23 seats the party will be winning, and this is not day dreaming. He said it is up to the Congress to fight for its survival. At the same time, he said that he will never form a government with the involvement of JD(S) as it had back-stabbed him once in the past. He also added that he would be bound by the party leadership's decision on continuing or otherwise as state BJP president.
