Kundapur: Failed attempt to steal from ATM using gas cutter

Kundapur, May 4: A failed attempt to break an ATM and steal cash from it using gas cutter took place at an ATM near Canara Bank, Byndoor on late night of Friday, May 3. The incident came to light on Saturday.

The bank and the ATM are situated close to Byndoor Junior College. Miscreants, who entered the ATM at unknown time at night, carried a gas cylinder with them. They cut the top portion of the ATM with the help of gas cutter. But they could not break the ATM as the machine has a strong steel cover inside it. Meanwhile the miscreants left the gas cylinder at the spot and fled due to fear as they must have seen people passing on the road.

Byndoor police have registered a case and are conducting investigations. It is not known if the CCTV cameras have recorded the act.

    All Safe Cages made of SS steel which can not cut by Gas cutter at any cost.

    Only with plasma or laser cutter that too with the professionals possible not by these Lungi Chowkidars possible.

    Should not use gas cutter for such jobs. It is a fire hazard and notes may caught fire. Insted use battery oprated cutters. Watch youtube videos or search Google before doing wrong things.

    They used cooking gas for cutting, not the right type of gas. combination of 2 types of gas are required.
