Panaji, Apr 3: Mumbai-based Shoreline Lifestyles Pvt Ltd – the new entrant into the travel management business – has recently launched their luxury houseboats for backwater rides in Cochin, Kerala, officials stated.
The company plans to be in the entire gamut of travel-related business offering services like ticketing, hotel rooms, holiday packages, travel insurance, car rentals, among other products.
“There isn’t a recognised player in this market in India as far as houseboats are concerned and we want to develop the brand in this segment. As part of our strategy, we will now tap the tier I and II cities in India by providing them access to superior travel services that will offer different packages to various destinations,” Jiju M Pillai, Managing Director, Shoreline Lifestyles Pvt Ltd, said.
The company has two houseboats – the 90-ft long fibre and the 85-ft traditional wooden – being operational in the virgin backwaters of Vambanad Lake, Cochin.
“We choose Vambanad Lake as our base for houseboats because it is very much virgin, where people will definitely enjoy their holidays and moreover, it is not over crowed like Alleppey,” he pointed out.
These luxury houseboats has three well-furnished bedrooms with attached bathrooms and all modern amenities on board, like air-conditioning, hot water and other facilities. It can accommodate six guests in three rooms, with a provision for three additional beds.
“We have a kitchen on board that serves various types of cuisines to cater to the food and beverage requirements of the guests, including typical Kerala food with its Seafood exquisites as well as Jain food,” adds Pillai.
He said that the company will market and promote the property through its website, travel portals and travel agents across the globe. The promoters of Shoreline Lifestyles Pvt Ltd also have operations in Seafood Exports, Ready to Eat Foods, Building Construction and Real Estate Management with large presence in the Global arena, having combined turnover in excess of USD 50 Million.
