Mangaluru, May 1: The results of JEE Main 2019 were published yesterday and 563 of the total 1153 students who wrote JEE main qualified for JEE Advanced from Expert PU College.
“All over India more than 11 lac students appeared for JEE main, conducted this year by National Testing Agency (NTA). Of this only 20% students were qualified for JEE Advanced. However, at Expert PU College 49% students have qualified and this reflects the quality of education at Expert. As many as 563 Expert students will write the advanced test along with 2.25 lakh students all over India for 11,000 seats in the IITs all over India,” said Prof Narendra L Nayak, the chairman of Expert Institutions.
R Chinmay with 99.9642359 percentile has secured 489th All India rank. As many as 238 Expert students have secured more than 90 percentile scores.
For the first time, JEE main was fully digitised and students were given two attempts, one attempt in January and another in April. NTA has taken into consideration the better of the two attempts by students and prepared the rank list.
JEE main is the decisive test for students seeking admission to the country’s prestigious NITs. In NITK Surathkal, 50% seats are reserved for students of Karnataka and the students doing well in JEE mains are eligible for admission there. JEE Advanced is the test for admission to the prestigious IITs.
It may be recalled, earlier 13 students of Expert PU College were selected for KVPY fellowship this year.
