Hassan, May 1: The district of Hassan has secured the first place in the state of Karnataka in the SSLC results that were announced on April 30. PWD and district-in-charge minister H D Revanna says that his wife Bhavani has strived a lot in bringing this laurel to the district.
Speaking at a press conference in the city, Revanna said, "The good policies of the coalition government are responsible for the overall good results of SSLC in the state. Similarly, the effort of my wife Bhavani, president of the standing committee of panchayat education also has given fruit. Basic infrastructure needs for education are provided in the district.
"The effort of head teachers and the teaching staff is also there in this success. We will felicitate the teachers of all schools that have reported 100% pass percentage. The schools will also be given certificate of honour. The effort of secretary of education department Vijay Bhaskar is also responsible for this excellent result.
"The effort of teachers in government schools and colleges in the district is commendable in achieving this result. Hassan has stood first in the SSLC result in the state."
Revanna also congratulated CM Kumaraswamy and chief secretary Vijay Bhaskar.
"The government of Kumaraswamy has given stress on education by conducting meetings at every phase since 2006. President of the standing committee of education Bhavani used to conduct meeting every alternate month. She had given strict instructions to Block Education Officers (BEO) to given special training to students. Kumaraswamy had given a grant of Rs 1,600 crores for the development of basic infrastructure in government schools," said an elated Revanna.
Revanna further said, "I offer my respect to all the head teachers and teaching staff of the district. 140 high schools and 86 schools have achieved 100% result. I congratulate the students who have studied hard and the teachers who have trained them for this wonderful result. Once the Election Code of Conduct period is over the teachers of schools that have achieved 100% result will be felicitated."
Giving a taunt to the former Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, Revanna said, "What the former DC has done? The teachers themselves had spat on her when she went to check on them. This was even discussed in the assembly. Now, without her conducting the examination to teachers we have achieved excellent result. I do not know whether Rohini has come to the district or not. In the state, because of the schemes of our government colleges have been opened in areas where there was no college."
"The effort put by my wife has given result. But did I make a propaganda about it?" said Revanna further taunting at former DC Rohini. He also said that the contributions of former minister Basavaraj Horatti, Kumaraswamy and secretary of government Vijay Bhaskar are immense to the district of Hassan.
