Toronto, Apr 23: The annual general body meeting (AGM) of the Konkan Organization of Toronto (KOT) was held recently in Scarborough, Toronto. Melwyn Lobo was elected as the president and Carmin Castelino was elected as the vice-president for the term 2019 to 2021.

KOT has been striving to preserve and maintain the cultural heritage of Konkan region, through the active participation of the members who are residing in the province of Ontario, Canada. KOT has been promoting spiritual and community activities among the Konkan families living in Toronto through programmes such as Monthi Festh celebration and pilgrimages to holy sites. The Organization is also involved in providing leadership opportunities especially among the youth through literacy, arts, sports and other forms of cultural expressions and also involves in philanthropic activities. With the ever-increasing number of members, KOT is able to serve the Christian Konkan community in Toronto.
