Bengaluru, Apr 21: Noted Tamil actress Radikaa Sarathkumar had a narrow escape in the bomb blasts that rocked Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, April 21.

As many as eight explosions across Sri Lanka, including in capital city Colombo, left at least 207 dead and hundreds more injured. The terrorists mainly targetted churches and hotels.

The actress, who was on a visit to the island nation, said in a tweet that the blast in Colombo's Cinnamon Grand Hotel happened just after she left the premises.

"OMG bomb blasts in Sri Lanka, God be with all. I just left Colombo Cinnamon Grand Hotel and it has been bombed, cant believe this shocking...so shocked," the actress said in her tweet.

Radikaa's husband and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi chief R Sarathkumar, who is also a Tamil actor, tweeted, "A dastardly act of terror unleashed in Colombo is condemnable, our heart goes out to innocent lives lost in the attack."

Before the blasts, Radikaa had tweeted Easter wishes, saying, "Happy Easter , have a blessed one friends."

At least 207 people were killed and 469 injured when eight suicide bombings, mainly in Colombo, ravaged Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday in the island's bloodiest day since the civil war ended a decade ago. Three Indians, including one from Mangaluru, were among the dead. No one has claimed responsibility for the bloodbath but AFP reported that Sri Lankan Police chief Pujuth Jayasundara had issued a nationwide alert 10 days ago warning that suicide bombers planned to hit prominent Catholic churches.
