Relating to the complaint about firing at the said beauty parlour, the crime branch personnel had arrested two persons including Bilal from Perumbavoor a few days back. Based on information the policemen could elicit from Bilal during his intensive questioning, the house at Paivalike was raided, it is gathered.
The house at Paivalike now raided was the secret spot where the gangs involved with crimes met and drew up plans. During the raid, however, a sick, aged man who was bedridden was found alone inside the house. Some clothes were found inside the house, and the team recorded the senior citizen's statement about them. The crime branch officials however cautioned that everything that the sick man told them cannot be trusted in their entirety.
The crime branch has learnt that the brain behind the shootout incident happens to be Monayi, but he is absconding at present. He is from Thrissur, and it is suspected that he would have fled to Malaysia. Monayi had stayed in this town also for sometime in the past, and he was the one who entered into contract with Bilal and another person to fire bullets at the said beauty parlour. Apart from providing funds for this work, he had also handed over pistol and motor bike to the two men he hired for the work, the police personnel stated.
After the police came to know that Monayi had stayed in this town for some years in the past, they have expanded their investigation to this place. The investigation is currently led by Jose Cherian, deputy superintendent of police, Kochi crime branch.
