Kundapur, Apr 17: Kundapur police station head constable B Chandrashekar (42) who met with accident at Mabukola bridge on Sunday night, April 14 while arriving from Brahmavar on his bike was paid last respects on Tuesday morning, April 16 at the police station.
The mortal remains were brought to Kundapur after final respects by the department at the central reserve squad center, Udupi. Police, home guard officials and people paid their respects.
A vehicle had hit his bike when he was returning after his official work at Brahmavar. Immediate medical help was not available for his serious injury on the neck.
Kundapur ASI Ashok and Panduranga who were returning from Udupi after official work identified the bike fallen on the road extended help. They contacted SI Harish Nayak over phone and explained the situation. The SI who responded to the telephone arranged to rush Chandrashekar to KMC hospital. But he died on Monday, April 17 without responding to treatment.
Chandrashekar was employed in the police department for the last 24 years and was serving in crime branch since the last 3 to 4 years. He has left behind his wife and two daughters. His last rites were held near his residence at Uppinakudru. Kundapur sub division DySP B P Dinesh Kumar, circle inspector Manjappa D R, sub inspector Harish R Nayak and Sridhar Nayak were present.
